Hinduism has played an important role in shaping Nepali history. Rituals, festivals and traditions define Hinduism in Nepal as well as the country as a whole. Hinduism is also the largest religion of Nepali with more than 80% of the population as its followers.

Among 33 crore deities Mahadev, Ganesha, Narayana and Durga are majorly followed. This Hindu pilgrimage tour takes you to major Hindu shrines around the valley. Pay homage to gods of the gods ’Pashupatinath’ Visit Doleshwor Mahadev which is believed to be the head of the Kedarnath temple in India, Budhanilkantha ‘the reclining Vishnu’ and Golden temple of Patan are the major attraction of this trip.

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu- Visit Pashupatinath Temple & Budhanilkantha.

Day 3: Kathmandu- Visit Patan Durbar Square, Baglamukhi Temple, & Bishankhu Narayan Temple (Godavari).

Day 4: Kathmandu – Visit Bhaktapur (Changu Narayan Temple, Doleshwar Mahadev Temple), Kailashnath Mahadev Statue.

Day 5: Kathmandu – Visit Pharping (Shesh Narayan Temple), Dakshinkali Temple.

Day 6: Depart Kathmandu.

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu.

Transfer from airport to hotel. A representative from our office will be there to receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport.  At the hotel, you will be briefed on your itinerary.

Day 2: Kathmandu - Visit Pashupatinath Temple & Budha Neelkantha.

Today after breakfast we begin our pilgrimage tour with a visit to one of the holiest shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva Pashupatinath Temple. Lying on the banks of the holy river Bagmati, Pashupatinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva’s incarnation as the protector of all living beings or ‘pashus’.  Pay obeisance at His shrine and ask for His blessings. After visiting other temples in the vicinity, we head towards Budha Neelkantha or Narayanthan. Lying at the bottom of the Shivpuri Hills, the enormous statue of Lord Vishnu, carved from a single rock is one of the most ancient and grandest statues of Lord Vishnu. 

Day 3: Kathmandu - Visit Patan Durbar Square, Baglamukhi Temple & Bishankhu Narayan Temple (Godavari).

Today we visit the holy Hindu shrines located inside Patan Durbar Square, a royal palace complex dating back to medieval times. We will pay obeisance at Krishna Temple, Kumbeshwor Temple and visit the temple of Baglamukhi Mai, a short walk away from Patan Durbar Square. Locals believe that visiting the shrine of the goddess on a Thursday leads to wishing fulfilment. After prayers, we will drive to Bishankhu Narayan Temple. Located towards the south-eastern end of the city, the temple lies in a wooded area. Covered by a chain mail, the idol of Lord Vishnu is placed inside a cave. This is one of the most important shrines in the valley dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Kathmandu – Visit Bhaktapur (Changu Narayan Temple, Doleshwar Mahadev Temple), Kailashnath Mahadev Statue.

Today we head towards Bhaktapur, smallest district inside the valley but richest in culture.  Drive for 40 minutes brings you to this amazing pagoda style Changunarayan temple dedicated to Lord Bishnu. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the temple has some of the oldest religious relics (engravings and statues) found in the valley. Next on our stop is an important shrine of Lord Shiva - Doleshwar Mahadev Temple. Located in Sipadol, Bhaktapur, the shrine is believed to be head of the Kedarnath temple in Uttarakhand India. After the puja, we pay a visit to the tallest statue of Lord Shiva in the world, Kailashnath Mahadev at Sanga (144 feet/44 metres).

Day 5: Kathmandu – Visit Pharping – Shesh Narayan Temple, Dakshinkali Temple.

Our pilgrimage tour takes us to the southern edge of the valley, to the ancient village of Pharping. After a scenic drive, we reach the temple of Shesh Narayan. One of the important shrines dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple dates back to the seventeenth century.

After visiting Shesh Narayan’s shrine, we head to Dakshinkali temple, which lies nearby. Known as a wish-fulfilling goddess, Dakshinkali Temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali. Animal sacrifices are offered to the goddess, to appease Her and to ask Her to grant Her devotees’ wishes.

Day 6: Depart Kathmandu.

Our representative will drop you at the airport on time to catch your return flight. Bon voyage...
